I am active in local, regional, & national science advisory boards whose primary goal is to increase number of students (especially those from unrepresented groups) pursuing STEM (science, technology, engineering, & math) careers. While my doctorate is in pharmacology (Stanford Univ.), I have over the years worked on STEM projects and have taught undergraduate and graduate level courses (physics, chemistry, modeling complex systems, pharmacology, and science education). I have had an interesting collection of careers: research scientist, STEM dean, science educator, science curriculum developer, financial planner, community activist, and radio commentator.
