Orange is the New Community: Recruiting at Correctional Facilities
It is a documented and overwhelming fact that 25% of the people in the world who are incarcerated, are incarcerated in the United States, although the U.S. has only 5% of the worlds population.  Some of these people move in and out of the criminal justice system and some manage to escape the cycle and return to our communities.  Education can be a significant tool for restorative justice and rehabilitation for those formerly incarcerated. How are these potential students identified, recruited and encouraged to join our campus communities?  Strategies and programs in progress will be discussed.
